A picture is worth a thousand words . . . but I don't think one can even come close to capturing Emily and Drew and what they have together! I knew I liked them right away, probably just from the fact that they had come straight from a Renaissance Festival to meet me. They told me all about their wedding day plans, how the two of them met, and, consequently, so many things that make them unique. Emily is full of spunk and personality, and Drew has a genuine kind, calm spirit. They both share a love for all things nerdy, and it really showed on their wedding day.
Emily's dress was stunning, and it reminded me of exactly what a medieval princess would wear, gorgeous and classic. Wait 'til you see it on her!
Her unique blue flats and antique, family heirloom jewelry really completed the look.
See? Breathtaking! She truly looks like she came out of the pages of a fairytale.
The ladies looked beautiful in their royal blue dresses, with lovely bouquets to match.
But, of course, nothing was quite so lovely as Drew and Emily together!
Loved the personality of each bridal party member!
Drew really looked quite dashing himself.
The weather was beyond perfect for an outdoor wedding nestled in the shade.
The nerdy touches throughout the day were amazing, like when the officiants asked everyone to shout "Huzzah!" in honor of the bride and groom.
The looks of love between these two could not be denied.
The toss of a die determined who gave vows first. No one seemed surprised when Emily won. :)
About this time, the officiants, a couple who are good friends of the bride and groom, asked if they would like to kiss. Yes was the response, so Drew and Emily were told to . . .
Make it so.
And make it so, they did. Husband and wife!
The beautiful reception was full of even more unique and charming details.
From a "Make it So" cake topper, to a game title for each table rather than table numbers . . .
. . . to butcher paper table cloths, where guests were encouraged to leave art work for the happy couple, just to name a few.
Best man and maid of honor toasts were heart-warming and quite funny, just as they should be. I won't include them here because I'll spare you the non-flattering photos of me (ha!), but my second shooter caught one or two with me wearing a giant smile just listening to these two congratulate the bride and groom.
The first dance was a beautiful and fun cavort to "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk the Moon.
Then the guests joined them for one more song on the dance floor!
After that, though, the dance floor slowed down since Emily and Drew had hand-picked games for the guests to enjoy in lieu of dancing! Guess Who, one of my personal favorite games, had a fun twist with characters including celebrities and friends and family.
Guests could also party the night away with console games! I loved the clever ideas these two had, and I loved everything about their awesome wedding day.
Emily and Drew, thank you so much for choosing me to be there to document this day for you!! I have loved working with you and yours, and I am so happy for the two of you, a perfect match! Congratulations!!
