If I've learned anything working with Megan and Kevin, I've learned that they will have cool things planned. From the engagement session featuring the Tivoli and adorable doggies, to the urban chic Jefferson Underground wedding venue, these are people who like to keep things interesting! Add heaps of love and beauty to that, and you have this fantastic wedding day! :)
The day began at the Courtyard St Louis Downtown West, where Megan was surrounded by her friends and family to prepare.
Her dress was a stunner, with a full, flouncy skirt and a bejeweled bodice. My favorite touch, though, was that sky blue pair of chucks!
I seriously gasped seeing her all dolled up and ready . . . .
Kevin, looking quite dashing himself, awaited her at Lafayette Park for a first look.
I adored the way he kept looking at her! <3
Now, I have to say, I'm kinda proud of myself for getting this next one! ;) My memory does not always serve me well. But in this case, at the engagement session, Megan's mom casually suggested I capture a photo on the wedding day with Megan looking behind as she walked off with Kevin. That was months ago, but I set a reminder on my phone, and we made it happen! ;) I love how gorgeous the pose turned out on them, too!
I may be featuring a disproportionate amount of bridal portraits, but Megan and my camera went together like peanut butter and jelly! :)
I had a great time hanging out with this bridal party, too! They were fun, and I could tell they care for Megan and Kevin fiercely.
Next, we headed to Jefferson Underground, where the ceremony awaited!
The sunflowers, the wood, the chalkboards, the warm summer light, the brick . . . I don't even know where to begin! I loved this setting and this decor.
Megan and Kevin's much beloved dog, Bruiser, got to accompany Evan as co-ring bearer! He made sure to greet as many people as possible on his way down the aisle. :)
Husband and wife!
The toasts were perfectly funny and heart-warming.
Another unique choice these two made was to feature cheesecake! I regret to say I did not take the time to try any! But, it looked delicious, and, more importantly, they were absolutely adorable cutting it together!
This setting only became more stunning as the evening went on!
It was a perfect time and place for the first dances.
Megan's bridesmaid (vocals) and brother (guitar) provided a gorgeous serenade for the father-daughter dance.
Then the party let loose! This was a seriously fun group of people, and I can't get over the beautiful sky and this rooftop setting! :)
I loved this twist on a bouquet throw! See that innocent-looking bride pretending she's about to throw it for anyone to catch? Think again! She promptly turned around and marched it right over to exactly who she thought should have it!
And I guess these gentlemen may be waiting a while for their turn to get married! :)
The last thing I just had to do before we packed up was grab this shot! PhoLoBrides rock!! Lindsey and Megan were bridesmaids in each other's weddings, and I got to shoot them both! I love these two, and I love, love keeping it in the family!
Congratulations, Megan and Kevin!! You had such a beautiful day, and, more importantly, have such a beautiful relationship!! I loved being there to witness your eyes light up each time you saw each other and to document the beginning of the rest of your lives together! Thank you! <3
